PixBar is two things: a mod that runs inside Claude Code on your machine, and this website. The mod sends nothing anywhere. The website counts visits only if you allow it.
The mod
The mod makes no network calls. Nothing it reads leaves your machine.
What it reads
- What Claude Code passes a mod: the working folder, the model name, context and rate-limit usage, and when a turn or a tool call starts and ends. It does not read your prompts, Claude's replies or tool results.
- The
HOMEenvironment variable, to find~/.claude/pixbar. No other variable, and no credential. - Your own skin files in
~/.claude/pixbar/skins/. They are read as text and never run. The shipped creatures are part of the mod itself. - The output of
git status --porcelain=v1 -b, run every five seconds in the session's working folder, for the branch name and whether there is uncommitted work.
What it writes
No file. Your theme is kept in the mod's own store, which Claude Code holds for it. Versions before 0.5.4 wrote two one-line files in ~/.claude/pixbar/, active and configured; they are still read as your earlier pick and never written.
This website
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you press Allow on the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 loads and sets cookies (
_gaand_ga_*) so we can count visits and see which install commands are copied. If you press No thanks, or never answer, nothing loads and nothing is sent to Google. "Cookie settings" in the footer changes your choice and removes those cookies. - Your choice. It is kept in your browser's local storage under
pixbar-consent. It never leaves your browser. - Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes each request (IP address, browser, page) to deliver it and keeps short-lived logs. We do not use those logs to identify anyone.
- There are no accounts, no forms and no advertising. We sell nothing and share nothing.
GitHub
The mod installs from github.com/ke11/claude-mods. Fetching it, and anything you post in its issues, is covered by GitHub's own privacy statement.
